Recommended Prerequisite: We highly recommend that the trainee complete Weatherization Fundamentals prior to taking this course.

This course is designed for the comprehensive evaluation and documentation of a performance based energy audit specifically of the building shell, assessment of the efficiency and safety of the mechanical systems, and to establish the most cost-effective weatherization strategy using skills learned in the course. These include principles of energy, energy and the building shell, energy auditing, air leakage and the dynamics of pressure differentials, insulation types, windows and doors, heating and cooling systems, indoor air quality, lighting and appliances, water heating, and health and safety. This course provides fundamental concepts related to building science principals, air leakage testing, and performance based energy auditing. It also provides hands-on training in the field with state-of-the-art diagnostic tools, including the blower door, and duct blaster. It also includes overviews of the OECA Site-built Housing and Mobile Home Specifications and BPI specifications. This is an intensive, full-week training course. For REAP certification, an open-book exam is given with a 75% or better as a passing grade to receive state certification as well as a field skills demonstration form. For BPI certification an online closed book exam and separate field test is required.

Notebook, pen/pencil, and PPE to work in a weatherization field house environment (coveralls, work shoes, gloves, etc.) Also bring your Oregon Weatherization Tech Specs. and Field Guides if you have taken a previous REAP class.
Attendance Policy
All portions of training MUST be attended and late arrivals are not allowed, nor accommodated. Missed portions of trainings are subject to make-up time at participant's expense. Petitions to this policy must be submitted in writing and are considered on a case-by-case basis. OECA reserves the right to ensure a safe and positive training environment and therefore may exclude or dismiss anyone who chooses not to follow staff directives.
Cancellation Policy
Rights Reserved The Oregon Energy Coordinators Association (OECA) reserves the right to make changes to programs, agendas, and logistics of any event, conference, training or workshop. OECA also reserves the right to cancel any event, conference, training or workshop. Registrants will receive a full refund upon such cancellations.

Refunds Full refunds, minus fees, will be granted for cancellations made 21 calendar days prior to the event, conference, training or workshop. Cancellations received after this deadline will not be refunded. All cancellations made with less than 21 days' notice are subject to a $100.00 administrative fee or 25% cancellation fee, which ever is smaller.

Liability Liability is limited to refunds of registration fees only.

Transferability Registrations may be transferable from one participant to another within an organization. Transfer of a registration payment from one event to another is not allowed.
