Nos comprometemos a brindar a los participantes la instrucción de vanguardia y la experiencia práctica necesarias para sobresalir en una carrera en aislamiento térmico.
El Instituto de Capacitación de Oregón es líder en el campo de la conservación de energía y el aislamiento térmico, y nos comprometemos a reducir el consumo energético, disminuir los costos de energía y mejorar la comodidad, la salud y la seguridad de las personas con bajos ingresos en el estado.
Debido a la demanda de especialistas en asistencia para aislamiento térmico en Oregón, el Instituto de Capacitación de Oregón ofrece un programa remunerado de capacitación en conservación de energía y aislamiento térmico de 6 a 12 semanas en varias localidades del estado, incluyendo Portland, Salem, Albany y (próximamente) Bend.
La participación en el programa no garantiza empleo futuro. Los participantes del programa de capacitación son empleados por CAPO de forma temporal y por tiempo limitado.
Program Overview
As an Energy Conservation and Weatherization training participant, you will have the unique opportunity to:

Your Responsibilities:
-
Attend trainings to prepare you for your placement.
-
Work beside contractors to implement energy-efficient solutions. Some examples include:
-
Ceiling, wall and floor insulation
-
Minor home repairs (related to reducing energy)
-
Sealing air leaks
-
Improving ventilation
-
Sealing windows and doors
-
-
Collaborate with other professionals in the field of weatherization.

Be punctual, responsible and reliable.
-
Bring a "will do" attitude.
Qualifications:
-
Enthusiasm and curiosity for weatherization and energy conservation.
-
Motivated to progress through all 3 phases of the program.
-
The ability to work well in a team environment.
-
No previous trades or building experience needed.
-
The desire to learn skills and techniques in construction basics and weatherization.

Individuals of all ages and backgrounds welcome and encouraged to apply.

OTI is hosting 3 cohorts in 2026:
Cohort I: January 5 - March 20
Cohort II: Dates TBD
Cohort III: Dates TBD
Phase I: (6 weeks): Onboarding, in-house training and then hands-on supervised work with a contractor. Starting wage: $18.20.

Certifications: OSHA 10, Lead-Based Paint Renovator, Health & Safety Mold and Moisture Value of Health & Safety course: 1K (training participants receive this course for free).
Successful training participants will be invited to participate in Phase II.
Phase II (1 week): Intensive retrofit installer training. Wage increase to: $20.70

Certifications: REA Retrofit Installer for Mobile Homes; REA Retrofit Installer for Stick-Built Homes. Value of courses: 7K (Training participant receive these courses for free).
Successful training participants will be invited to participate in Phase III.
Phase III (4 weeks): Energy auditor job shadowing, mentoring, training and testing. Wage increase to: $23.

Certification: REA Energy Analyst
OTI accepts applications year-round. Staff begins reviewing applications 4 weeks before each cohort begins with interviews scheduled shortly thereafter. Applications are reviewed in order received. Apply NOW if you want to participate.
